About Coastal Care MD Tybee

Dr. Michelle Cipriani’s path to Tybee Island has been anything but ordinary. Long before becoming a physician, she studied marine science at Coastal Carolina University, beginning a lifelong connection to the ocean. She later spent 10 years as an open-heart ICU nurse at Shands at the University of Florida before attending Barry University in Miami, where she studied anesthesia and earned a Master of Science degree.

Her education continued at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in Antigua and Barbuda, where she earned her medical degree. While attending medical school, she simultaneously completed a master’s degree in healthcare administration through Davenport University.

After medical school, Dr. Michelle built her own medical practice in the Atlanta area, where she has spent the past 10 years caring for patients and developing the personal, relationship-based approach to medicine that she now brings to Coastal Care MD Tybee.

But medicine is only part of her story. She is a mother of three, an ocean lover, and someone who has lived in many places before finally finding the place that truly felt like home. She first came to Tybee in 2020, during the uncertainty of the COVID era, looking for a place to get away. What she found was a community she fell in love with.

Tybee became more than an escape. It became home.

Coastal Care MD Tybee grew from Dr. Michelle’s desire to put down roots here and give something meaningful back to the community she loves. Her goal is simple: to be a local physician people know and trust — providing personal, accessible medical care and caring for her neighbors the way she has always believed medicine should be practiced.
